I just got word from Burman, the old color should be back soon. :) He was just trying to upgrade the site with new features, and changed the color. I too do like the old color better though.

They are called tags.
You get them for being a good member and will usuallly get them whenever a staff member feels it is appropriate.

For instance it appears you now have one,

Only staff can, but if you don't like you'r tag you can ask to get rid of it. You can also earn tags by doing different things. You'r tag, I think, you got because you are very active in the pirates forum.

No he wasn't, all tags are given out have a reason. Perthpoke is very active in the pirates forum, so that tag is very fitting.
